Django & Bata lose to Indons fails to enter next round - World Cup of Pool

MANILA, Philippines – Billiard partners Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante failed to advance to the next round of the 2010 PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool after bowing to Team Indonesia, 8-6, on Thursday.
The defending champions, who make up Philippine Team A, are now out of the race after their loss to partners Muhammad Zulfikri and Ricky Yang of Indonesia.
The country is left with Philippine Team B tandem of Dennis Orcollo and Roberto Gomez. The two earlier beat Team Croatia, 8-4.
Reyes and Bustamante engaged the Indons in a thrilling match that saw both teams tied at 3-all in the 6th rack.
Team Indonesia started a run in the following rack to zoom ahead to a 5-3 lead.

The Filipinos fought back starting the 9th rack when they capitalized on Zulfikri’s miss to tie the scores at 5-all.
A battle of safeties had the Indons winning the 11th rack. Partners Yang and Zulfikri rode on this momentum to pile a 7-5 lead.
Reyes and Bustamante had their last hurrah in Rack 13 when Yang failed his break, allowing Philippines Team A to cut the lead, 7-6.
The Indons, however, took advantage of Reyes’ mistake on his safety shot in the next rack to eliminate the Filipino partners from the tournament.
