Latest on Anthony trade, more of the same

Some of the new information about the potential Carmelo Anthony trade includes comments from Kobe Bryant, the fact the Nets want a point guard if they lose Devin Harris, and Chris Paul becoming a factor in the end.

Yahoo! Sports reports that Kobe told Melo "don't make a move just to get out of the situation...Make sure it's a move that you're very happy in and you're comfortable with." The Nets are now worried about being stuck with Jordan Farmar as their starting point guard if they move Devin Harris, since the Bobcats are reluctant to include D.J. Augustin in the deal, and Melo's advisors are hoping that Chris Paul, who is represented by the same group,

will end up in New Jersey next season. There's also the matter of Melo agreeing to an extension with New Jersey, as well as the other teams involved being bothered by the way the Nuggets are handling the process, by appearing to wait for bigger and better offers instead of agreeing to the one they've got in place with the Nets. In other words, this deal is still far from being done, and it's still possible Anthony listens to Kobe and shows up in Denver for camp at some point. Stay tuned.
